June 20 (Mon)… Seth MacFarlane with the Joel McNeely Band. MacFarlne’s singing is a convincing echo of the Sinatra, Martin, Rat Pack  big band era. In his spare time, the versatile MacFarlane also has a convincing career as the producer of such major animation series as Family Guy, American Father and much more. June 21. (Tues.)… Make Music Day. The Skirball Center’s celebration of Make Music Day, a free festival of music held every June 21 in more than 700 cities in 120 countries around the world. Open to everyone—all ages and levels of musical experience. At the Skirball Center.

A composer himself, Paul Hefti attributes his own music to the creative impulses he experienced in his late father’s inventive development.
