I’ve written before about Allen Mezquida’s remarkable animated character Smigly — an Everyman for the 21st century. Not only is Mezquida an imaginative visual artist, he’s also an impressive jazz alto saxophonist.
In this latest installment of Smigly’s adventures, titled “Noise,” the little guy discovers how difficult it is to live life in the moment. It’s an experience most of us have, probably every day. The sound track features Mezquida’s alto saxophone from, he says, “a recording I did almost twenty years ago. And like the earlier Smiglys (which can be found on YouTube), it is aimed directly at a place “where your cranium is attached to your funnybone.”
